Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Journal Scientific and Applied Research are subject to peer review.

Criteria for acceptance will be appropriateness to the field of the Journal, taking into account the merit of the content and presentation.

Papers should be clearly written. Abstracts should be self-contained and informative of what was learned from the research. Rigorous argument and presentation are expected throughout.

Papers will be refereed in the manner customary with scientific journals before being accepted for publication.

Upon receiving a manuscript, two members of the Editorial Board will examine it and if the paper is out of scope of the journal or does not meet the basic criteria for a journal article, it will be immediately rejected without further review. Otherwise, the Editor-in-Chief will solicit reviews from at least two external referees.

Based on the reviews, the Editor will make the decision on paper acceptance, or solicit additional reviews if the decision in unclear.

Possible decisions are

  • Accept in Present Form (without change)
  • Consider after Minor Changes (The author will receive feedback and be asked to submit an amended version addressing the reviewers’ concerns. The Editor will check the amended manuscript and ensure the concerns have been addressed. Once satisfied, the Editor can accept the manuscript.)
  • Consider after Major Changes (The recommendation is communicated to the authors. The authors are expected to apply the revisions in their paper in accordance with the changes suggested by the reviewers and to submit their revised paper on time. Once the revised paper is submitted, the Editor will distribute the revised paper to the reviewers for approval. If the reviewers approve the revised version, the paper is accepted for publication, if not, it is rejected.)
  • Reject (The paper is immediately rejected if the editor recommends rejecting. Also, if the majority of the reviewers recommend rejecting the paper, the rejection is immediate.)

The peer review process is single blinded; that is, the reviewers know the author(s) of the paper are, but the author(s) do not have access to the information of peer reviewers.

This journal requires that: "The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration."
